unival group highlights the importance of regional cooperation and knowledge exchange at ASEC2026

At the Africa Security Symposium (ASEC2026), unival group joined government representatives, security professionals, industry leaders and international organisations in discussions highlighting the growing need for closer regional cooperation, more effective border management and practical security solutions that support trade, critical infrastructure and economic development across Africa.

Over three days, from 07 to 09 July 2026, more than 400 delegates gathered in Accra to exchange knowledge, discuss current security challenges and explore opportunities for stronger regional cooperation and long term security capability development across Africa.

The conference programme featured keynote presentations, panel discussions and technical sessions exploring current security challenges, emerging technologies and the future of integrated security operations across Africa. Together, they highlighted evolving security priorities and opportunities for greater regional collaboration.

As a Gold Sponsor, unival group contributed to these discussions through meetings, live demonstrations and technical exchanges focused on border management, critical infrastructure protection, operational screening and integrated security solutions. The symposium provided valuable opportunities to exchange knowledge, strengthen partnerships and gain insight into the evolving security priorities of governments and organisations across the region.

For unival group, ASEC2026 provided an opportunity to strengthen relationships and better understand Africa's evolving security priorities.

Representing unival group at ASEC2026 were Managing Directors David Vollmar and Lara Vollmar, together with Martin Mungai, Managing Director, unival Africa, Nader Saanouni, Senior Project Manager EMEA, and Fidel Amakye Owusu, Security Advisor (Africa), unival group GmbH.

Throughout the symposium, the delegation engaged with government representatives, international organisations, industry partners and security professionals through meetings, technical discussions and live demonstrations. Their participation reflected unival group's commitment to security cooperation across Africa.

Throughout the symposium, unival group showcased integrated security solutions designed to support border management, critical infrastructure protection and coordinated security operations.

Featured technologies included the HCM1 Handheld Counter Monitoring Device, which enables security teams to rapidly detect and locate unauthorized transmitting devices, helping to protect sensitive government facilities, VIP environments and critical infrastructure from electronic surveillance threats.

Alongside the uniXPASS identity, access and compliance platform, mobile screening solutions and integrated security systems, the technologies demonstrated practical approaches to supporting secure and resilient operations across Africa.

One of the highlights of unival group's participation was the keynote presentation, "Security Challenges and Opportunities Across Africa," delivered by Fidel Amakye Owusu, Security Advisor (Africa), unival group GmbH.

The presentation examined the opportunities and challenges shaping Africa's security landscape, highlighting the importance of integrated security solutions, regional cooperation and long term capability development.

Beyond the conference programme, ASEC2026 demonstrated the value of bringing together governments, industry and security professionals to share operational experience, strengthen regional partnerships and explore practical approaches to common security challenges.

These discussions reinforced the importance of collaboration and knowledge sharing in developing practical security solutions that respond to the region's evolving operational requirements.

unival group would like to thank the organisers, partners and everyone who visited Booth No. 26 during the symposium. We appreciate the opportunity to exchange ideas, discuss operational challenges and build relationships that will continue beyond ASEC2026.

The insights gained during the symposium will continue to inform our collaboration with partners across the region. As regional security requirements continue to develop, integrated and coordinated approaches will play an increasingly important role in supporting resilient and sustainable security operations across Africa.
