TACTICAL MEANING OF EM JAMMING

EM jamming is the intentional radiation, reradiation, or reflection of EM energy for the purpose of preventing or reducing an opponent’s effective use of the EMS, with the intent of degrading or neutralizing the opponent’s actions.

INTENTIONAL RADIATION JAMMING

Involves systems that radiate electromagnetic energy.

RERADIATION JAMMING

Involves systems that receive and retransmit an altered or altogether different threat signal to deceive the hostile forces.

REFLECTION OR MECHANICAL JAMMING

Does not emit a signal but rather reflects signals to produce false target indications.

Intentional jamming with radio signals is equivalent to a denial of service attack.In past, EM jamming was mostly related to strategical operations of Armed forces with goal to prevent the hostile forces to effectively use EMS in operations.

Nowadays, following rapid technical development, EM Jamming become mainly part of tactical operations, used by tactical units (armed, police or governmental forces) with aim to disable hostile groups/ units to use EMS in order to achieve remote actions (RCIED trigger, Drone attack, unwanted communication links for example in prisons etc.).

Tactical Jamming is widely in use by all Government forces with purpose of protection from all kinds of threats, exiting in modern tactical warfare and terrorist actions. Today’s jamming systems are often named and classified according to their fields of application: Convoy Protection Jammer, RCIED Jammer, Conference Room Jammer, Drone Jammer, Cellular Jammer depending on targeted threat.

All modern jammers should contain the feature to be freely and precisely programmable so that they don’t interfere with other communication frequencies.

TACTICAL MEANING OF EM JAMMING​
The two most widely used jamming techniques against modern telecommunication devices are active and reactive jamming. Reactive Jammers use less energy and emit noise only if targeted signal is present in EMS. Active Jammers work continuously, but have many advantages, mostly related to simplicity of design and use.

Development of processing ability of modern chip sets, allows for the use of high speed sweeps. Future development will be focused on Jammer types which can efficiently neutralized constantly evolved telecommunication technologies which can be used as remote activation devices.
