ASEC2026 concludes with strong regional engagement and knowledge exchange
Discussions at the Africa Security Symposium (ASEC2026) in Accra highlighted the growing need for closer regional cooperation, stronger border management and practical security solutions that support trade, critical infrastructure and economic development across Africa.
Held from 07 to 09 July 2026, the symposium brought together government representatives, security professionals, infrastructure operators and industry leaders to discuss current security challenges, operational requirements and the role of long term partnerships in strengthening security capabilities across the continent.
As a Gold Sponsor, unival group contributed to these discussions through meetings, live demonstrations and technical exchanges focused on border management, critical infrastructure protection, operational screening and integrated security solutions. The symposium provided valuable opportunities to exchange knowledge, strengthen partnerships and gain insight into the evolving security priorities of governments and organisations across the region.
One of the highlights of unival group's participation was the keynote presentation, "Security Challenges and Opportunities Across Africa," delivered by Fidel Amakye Owusu, Security Advisor (Africa) at unival group GmbH. The presentation explored regional security developments, integrated border management, mobile security concepts, critical infrastructure protection and the importance of collaboration in strengthening operational capability across Africa.
Beyond the conference programme, the discussions throughout ASEC2026 reinforced that effective security depends not only on technology, but also on strong partnerships, operational experience and the exchange of knowledge between governments, industry and security professionals.
